Bobover Rebbe, Rabbi Ben Zion Halberstam affixing a mezuzah at Masbia of Boro Park and making a l’chaim. While inviting The Rebbe to the event, The Rebbe spoke about how the Zohar’s teachings with regards to Ushpizin on Sukkoth, can be applied year round to Masbia because when the Zohar talks about the importance of feeding the needy on Sukkoth, so that the Ushpizin should stay with you, the commentary Masuk b’dvsh explains that it is clear from the Zohar’s sources that it means to make sure the poor have a place to eat, not that you literally need to bring them to your Sukkah. The Rebbe took from this that feeding the needy at Masbia is like having guests at your own home.
