Food Drive
Organize a food drive at your school, synagogue or other affiliated organization on behalf of Masbia. The most helpful kinds of donations are large quantities of the same item. About 1,500 families, on average, pick up packages from our pantry program each week. While they don’t receive exactly the same items, we strive for as much uniformity as possible. We make sure our clients get a balanced meal--enough of each food categories for all days. Masbia is always desperately in need of proteins such as canned fish or beans. Masbia welcomes donations of food from vendors. About 1,500 families, on average, pick up packages from our pantry program each week. While they don’t receive exactly the same items, we strive for as much uniformity as possible. We make sure our clients get a balanced meal--enough of each food categories for all days. Masbia cooks over 2 million meals a year in a single kitchen at our Flatbush site, so equipment oftens needs to be replaced due to heavy usage. Masbia is always looking for help purchasing heavy duty equipment, such as stoves, refrigerators and ovens. We are happy to purchase directly from our suppliers at lower cost on your behalf.
